Welcome to Purplest’s blog launch! Shierly and I are very excited about it. Even though we will regularly update our main website, we will showcase our latest work here first. So make sure you come pay us a visit.
We became interested in running a wedding business while we were planning our own marriage in 2009. Our wedding invitation was the creation of our minds working together, but she did the majority of the work as she loves doing craft work. We wanted our guests to keep it as a long-lasting souvenir, and not something that they would throw away several days later. What makes it special is the hardcover of the invitation — something that is commonplace in Southeast Asia — and we are bringing that to this side of the ocean.
I am bringing my photography skills to our business. During our wedding planning, again, we were not entirely happy with the wedding photographers in the Montreal area, so we had to fly one in from the UK. Bandele Zuberi is actually a friend of a friend and we are extremely happy with his work. He was very friendly and patient with us. If you are curious of our wedding pictures, have a look at his blog. Back to my story, I was already doing photography as a hobby. Working with Bandele has turned that hobby into a passion and that is why I’m pursuing this career path. Shierly is also my second photographer.
As a preview of things to come in our blog, here’s a teaser of Jessica Claire’s February workshop that I attended in beautiful California.
